The history of coffee

The exact date when coffee was in known however, the country of Ethiopia is credited as being the founder of coffee. A goat herder is said to have found coffee by watching his goats acting more hyper. He saw them eating berries and wondered what they were eating. This was the first hot coffee beverage that most of the world drinks today.

The Venetian trade merchants then introduced coffee to Europe. The Catholic church however didn't approve of the new drink, many Catholics calling it the "drink of the devil". However the Pope was an avid coffee drink already and he saw nothing wrong with tasty drink. He give the drink his approval and coffee then flourished throughout Europe.

Later on in history coffee found it's way to the United States, as a protest on the high tea tax that England was imposing.
